Notes

  • Time travel is achieved in this episode by the use of the Guardian of Forever, first seen in “City on the Edge of Forever“.
  • We finally get to see Spock’s pet sehlat, first mentioned in the episode “Journey to Babel“.
  • Mark Lenard reprises his role of Spock’s father Sarek in this episode, although Jane Wyatt does not reprise her role as Spock’s mother Amanda.  She is portrayed here by Majel Barrett.

This shot of a Vulcan city was re-used in later Trek incarnations as the source of what a Vulcan city looks like from a distance.
