Stupid printer

For several years now, I’ve had a HP LaserJet 6L printer. It’s not the fastest printer around, and it’s only black & white, but it’s more than served my needs in the time I’ve had it. Yesterday I had a MAJOR paper jam in the thing. Paper jams I’ve had in the past were easy to fix, I could just pull the paper out, and that’s what I was doing this time, except the paper ripped in half.

It effectively killed my printer, because I was unable to get it to respond. There was no easy way to get it out of there – so I had to bring it to work and get my network guy here to take a look at it. He’s working on it as we speak, so hopefully he can get it apart to the point where the piece of paper can be removed. It worked fine other than that. Hopefully I don’t have to buy another printer. :(

UPDATE: Our network guy fixed my printer, took it apart and got the piece of paper (which turned out to be about 1/10 of a full piece of paper) in there. Darnit – I’ve had this printer for about 3 or 4 years now, and that’s the first time anything like that happened. At least I didn’t have to buy a new one because of a friggin paper jam!
