I’ve been a TiVo owner for ages. I’ve loved my TiVo for ages. I still love it even though it’s been sucked up and probably left out to dry by DirecTV. But that’s a gripe for another session.
I read a pretty interesting article this afternoon talking about how TiVo (the company) can save itself. One of the ideas in this article is something I’ve been talking about for ages. Get TiVo in bed with the Nielsen folks. Those are the guys who have been reporting on TV popularlity (more and more inaccurately as time goes on, I think). To get TiVo in bed with these guys might be something that would be worthwhile for TiVo the company, and could bring an influx of cash to keep the company going.
