Notes
- In 2021 there was a comic book series produced based on the characters from Paradise Towers. No direct Doctor Who in it, though due to licensing. But if you enjoyed Paradise Towers, it’s a cool followup. The overall description of the series is “Years have passed since Kroagnon, the great architect, returned to wipe out the inhabitants of Paradise Towers. The inhabitants now prosper under the leadership of the magnanimous reign of General Favalan and her soldiers. The residents want for nothing. They fear nothing. After all, in paradise, what is there to fear?” There is a photo of the cover of the first edition below. I backed this on Kickstarter originally.
- When this series (the 24th) of Doctor Who was released on blu-ray, there was a specially made trailer titled “24 Karat” in which both Bonnie Langford & Sylvester McCoy reprised their roles of Mel & the Doctor. However, they also had Catherine Cusack, Edward Peel, & Richard Gauntlett in this short. Cusack reprised her role of the Blue Kang leader from Paradise Towers, Edward Peel reprised his role as Kane from Dragonfire, and Richard Gauntlett who was originally a Tetrap in Time & the Rani (but appears in the flesh here). This video is still available on the Doctor Who youtube channel.

This is a guilty pleasure. One of the more derided stories. I always felt the base story was great. If you took this script and made it today with no changes, it would be better. pic.twitter.com/kwJ3A6ibdI

Was the late 80's no $ production that let it down. Plus some OTT acting in several places. I mean, this dialogue: "Yellow Kang's a Cowardly Cutlet" - WTF! #BuildHighForHappiness pic.twitter.com/rG9MgLawD1

Some of the writing here is kind of like Robert Holmes with needlessly wordy names for things and people (327 appendix 3, subsection 9 death). It's SUPER 80's, but I always liked pic.twitter.com/pda59v2GoB

the cleaners theme tune. Most of the running around in this ep seems pointless. Never understood why the Chief Caretaker wanted to kill the Great Architect. #BuildHighForHappiness pic.twitter.com/t8dV6KE5iL

be the disembodied spirit of the Great Architect in the basement; he goes OTT in a way we've never seen before in #DoctorWho. The caretakers are pretty darned incompetent. Mel gets her pool. pic.twitter.com/kQlOWAOMBv
#DoctorWhoMarathon Ep 667 - Paradise Towers 4/4 (Serial 7E Story 146) - 26 Oct 1987 #DoctorWho 1/2#BuildHighForHappiness This ends in a way that's not that unpredictable. The Great Architect takes over the Chief Caretaker, who goes mobile and tries to kill everyone. Pex, the pic.twitter.com/5OOqQoJicX

wimp character takes him out, becoming a legendary hero for those characters still alive. As I said, not best story, but I liked it. It also has Mel in a swimsuit.❤️ #PexLives pic.twitter.com/XhXB2KJ0ZV
