The Girl Who Died

This Story: Series 9, Story 3. Production code 9.5
Overall: Story 256, Episode 824
Airdate: 17 Oct 2015
Written by Jamie Mathieson & Steven Moffat
Directed by Ed Bazalgette

Notes

  • Despite this having a very similar title to the following story (The Woman Who Lived), and some of the guest actors being the same, this is not a two parter, and officially a standalone story.
  • Odin was supposed to be played by Brian Blessed who was in Doctor Who previously in Colin Baker’s “Mindwarp“. Blessed had to drop out due to health problems at the time.

Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams enters here. The first Viking story since the 60's. This story was just OK - not bad, but not great. 12 finds out why he has the face, calling back pic.twitter.com/2Vcnx8YOwC
