  • The first (aired) episode with Walter Koenig as Pavel Chekov.
  • Many things relative to Vulcan culture originate here (the vulcan salute, pon farr, etc).
  • The remastered version of this episode uses elements for planet Vulcan that originated in the Animated Series.
  • T’Pring (Spock’s “wife”) is mostly a background character here, but the relationship between the two has been expanded on a LOT in episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
