Trek Overall: Story 228, Episode 234
Airdate: 26 Oct 1992

Notes

  • Features the return of John DeLancie as Q.  While he didn’t make any appearances in Season 5, he makes three this year. This episode and another of TNG (“Tapestry“) as well as his lone appearance on Deep Space Nine in “Q-Less“.
  • The original title of this episode was “Q Me?”
  • Amanda Rogers is played by Olivia d’Abo.  She is the real life cousin of Maryam d’Abo (Mara Milovy in the 87 James Bond film, The Living Daylights).
  • This is the last episode where the entire crew sees Q.  The remainder of his appearances in TNG he’s seen by Picard only.
  • Dr Crusher gets a new hairstyle here, this time made from McFadden’s own hair, not making her wear a wig.
  • Admin Note: The dates on the BlueSky posts say 1 Nov – that was an error.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 131 - True Q - 1 Nov 1992 2/2 has the powers of a Q. The ep's conflict is what to do with said powers in some ways mirrors the plot points of past Q stories at times. The story had a little bit of a "Mary Sue" vibe to it, but overall, I liked it.
