Notes

  • The first appearance (of three) of Majel Barrett (as Lwaxana Troi) on DS9.  I’m pretty sure this made her the first actor to have appeared on all (at the time) four Star Trek TV series (TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9).
  • The first episode to show Odo (or any changeling for that matter) in their default liquid state.
  • Jack Shearer plays Vadosia in this episode.  He also played three other characters across DS9, VOY, & Star Trek: First Contact.
  • The first episode to show the POV inside one of the turbo lifts.
  • The events of the TNG episode “Menage A Troi” are mentioned here.
  • The attempt to bypass the station computer really reminded me of 2001: A Space Odyssey and “I can’t do that Dave”.
  • Jake Sisko does not appear in this episode.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 17 - The Forsaken - 24 May 1993 2/2 Odo from reverting to his OG form long past the point he should. In a really wonderful scene, Lwaxana is super tender towards Odo, allowing him to revert. There's a B plot with O'Brien & the computer which is fair.
