Notes
- Chief O’Brien & Jake Sisko do not appear in this episode.
- There is another episode that is a loose sequel to this one – it’s from the fifth season and is called “Things Past“.
- The first episode where we get an inkling that Rom is not the moron he’s been portrayed as to this point.
- There’s a flashback to when Odo, Quark, Gul Dukat, & Kira all meat each other for the first time.
- Rule of Acquisition Mentioned: #139 – “Wives serve, brothers inherit”
- There is some dialogue by Odo here “All part of a routine investigation” that is an intentional nod to the series Columbo. Both this episode and numerous of that were written by Peter Alan Fields.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 28 - Necessary Evil - 15 Nov 1993 2/2 came to be in his position originally. Huge background into Odo & Kira. I LOVED this - the different time zones in the story worked VERY well. Loved the insight into the occupation days. Overlooked classic episode.
