Tribunal

This Story: Season 2 Episode 25 (production code 445)
DS9 Overall: Episode 45
Trek Overall: Story 310, Episode 325
Airdate: 6 Jun 1994
Written by Bill Dial
Directed by Avery Brooks

Notes

  • The first episode directed by a Deep Space Nine cast member (Avery Brooks). Brooks would direct eight more episodes of DS9 after this.
  • This episode is based off a line said by Dukat in “The Maquis Part II” about the outcome of a trial being known on Cardassia Prime before it starts.
  • The events of the episode “Playing God” are briefly referenced here.
  • Enterprise-D is referenced in this episode, but only briefly in one liner, it is not seen.
  • The first time we see Cardassia Prime in the series.  It had only been mentioned prior to this.
  • Boone is played by John Beck.  He’s an actor I know well from “Dallas” where he played Mark Graison for 67 episodes (mostly Pam Ewing’s second finance).
  • Admin note: While this post is dated Jun 26, it was actually posted on the 27th.  I got busy on the 26th and didn’t get to that day’s episode in time.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 45 - Tribunal - 6 Jun 1994 2/2 known before it starts. That's why this ep exists, to see that single line expanded on. Colm Meaney always does a good job with these eps. Did like seeing more of Keiko, an underused character. Good dramatic episode.
