Captain Cook

This Episode: Season 4, Episode 1
Black Adder Overall: Episode 19
Airdate: 28 Sep 1989
Written by Ben Elton & Richard Curtis
Directed by Richard Boden

Notes

  • The only episode of the entire run of Black Adder to feature no one except the regular cast.
  • The first episode of the series to be directed by Richard Boden – he would direct all of Series IV.
  • The “hot crumpet from behind” bit from the first episode of Series III is mentioned here again.

Black Adder Ep 19 - "Captain Cook" - 28 Sep 1989 2/3 the true subject is definitely "Melchet stupid". This became my fav overall series due to them crystallizing how well the cast blends together and how good the writing is. This is probably my second fav ep of the series. Builds on Series 3 well.

Black Adder Ep 19 - "Captain Cook" - 28 Sep 1989 3/3 This is my favorite individual moment from the entire episode. I'm convinced this was thrown in there as a nod back to the "Fry & Laurie" comedy duo. It's funny as hell to this day for me. "Belts off, trousers down, isn't life a scream!" hahaha
