Trek Overall: Story 445, Episode 470
Airdate: 8 May 1995
Story by Jonathan Glassner & Kenneth Biller

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 1
  • Features the return of the Vidiians, although they’re more a plot device vs a threat here.
  • The first time we see another Talaxian.
  • For scenes when there was two B’Elannas at once, they didn’t use split screen.  They cast another actress (Joy Kilpatrick) to play a body double.  Kilpatrick was not credited in the episode for that.
  • There was a second body double played by “Lynn Salvatori”, but Kilpatrick was the primary one.
  • Lt Durst (introduced in the last episode) was the first Voyager crew member (after their being stranded) to die – and stay dead.
  • The events of this episode are recalled in the episode “Lifesigns” (another Vidiian episode).
  • Rob LaBelle plays the Talaxian prisoner here.  He was also Kafar in the episode “False Profits” and a different Talaxian (Oxilon) in the episode “Homestead“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 14 - Faces - 8 May 1995 1/2 A standard trope in Trek - split a character into two - this time with B'Elanna Torres. It's not quite Kirk in "Enemy Within" - she's split into her Human and Klingon halves, and most of the time is spent on a character examination

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 14 - Faces - 8 May 1995 2/2 of her personality, which is welcome in Season One. It's executed by the return of the Vidiiians, which does work vs just a transporter accident or something (hello Tuvix). Conceptually it seems like it would be meh, but I liked it.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
