- The science lab is seen for the first time.
- A working title for this episode was “Symbiogenesis”. That word appears in dialogue in the episode as well.
- Tuvix was played by Tom Wright. He also appeared in Star Trek: Enterprise as Ghrath, one of the alien Nazi characters in the episode “Storm Front“.
- The events of this episode are recalled in the Lower Decks episode “Twovix“. In that ep, Capt Freeman says she researched what Janeway did about this dilemma, as the same thing happened with two Lower Decks crew members on that episode.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 40 - Tuvix - 6 May 1996 2/2 talk about separating the two, killing Tuvix. This is the biggest moral dilemma I think Janeway faces. It even involves the Doctor refusing to be involved. Tom Wright (Tuvix) was awesome. The decision is still talked about today.
