The Fight

This Story: Season 5 Episode 19 (production code 208)
VOY Overall: Episode 113
Trek Overall: Story 538, Episode 569
Airdate: 24 Mar 1999
Story by Michael Taylor
Teleplay by Joe Menosky
Directed by Winrich Kolbe

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 49.  This contradicts the hard limit set in “The Cloud” of 38.
  • Ray Walston reprises his role as Boothby, albeit in a memory of Chakotay.  This would be the final time Walston plays this role.
  • Chakotay’s boxing name here was “The Maquis Maulder” was changed to “The Tattooed Terror” in the episode Tsunkatse.
  • Chakotay’s grandfather here was played by Ned Romero.  He was also Anthwara in the TNG episode “Journey’s End” as well as Krell in the original series’ “A Private Little War“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 113 - The Fight - 24 Mar 1999 1/2 When I watched Voyager back in the 90's, my mind had this filed as one of the worst eps. I've NEVER rewatched it since 1999, so I was curious to see what I'd think of it now as I've been liking Chakotay more in this rewatch.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 113 - The Fight - 24 Mar 1999 2/2 While I did like some of the stuff about Chakotay, the story was confusing as hell, and I didn't care for it. Felt needlessly complicated, and I still don't get the point of the boxing angle. Nice seeing Ray Walston again.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
