Journey’s End

This Story: Season 7 Episode 20 (production code 272)
TNG Overall: Episode 172
Trek Overall: Story 264, Episode 274
Airdate: 28 Mar 1994
Story by Ronald D. Moore, Shawn Piller & Anatonia Napoli (idea)
Teleplay by Ronald D. Moore
Directed by Corey Allen

Notes

  • The last episode with Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher (minus a tiny cameo in Star Trek: Nemesis).  The next time we would see him would be 28 years later in the Star Trek: Picard episode “Farewell“.
  • The second and final episode with Eric Menyuk as The Traveller.
  • The native American colony here was intended to be where Chakotay on Voyager came from, but that was never stated on screen.
  • Ned Romero plays Anthwara here.  He later plays Chakotay’s grandfather in the Voyager episode “The Fight“.
  • This episode creates the Demilitarized Zone and the start of the Maquis, who would be a major part of the start of Star Trek Voyager.
  • The village set was a reuse of the same from “Thine Own Self“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 172 - Journey's End - 28 Mar 1994 1/2 Wesley's back. This is his final ep. His "Journey's End" is that he ends up leaving with the traveler who returns from Season 1. Wesley goes off to be another traveler after moping around a bit. We see that paid off MUCH later

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 172 - Journey's End - 28 Mar 1994 2/2 in ST:Picard S2, & then ST:Prodigy S2. The other story involves a Native American colony being forcibly removed & the creation of the Maquis (although not named) - all setup for Star Trek Voyager. Better than I remembered.
