Sleeping Dogs

This Story: Season 1 Episode 14 (production code 114)
ENT Overall: Episode 14
Trek Overall: Story 605, Episode 642
Airdate: 30 Jan 2002
Written by Fred Dekker
Directed by Les Landau

Notes

  • Running Decon Gel Scene Appearances: T’Pol (2), Trip (1), Hoshi (1), Malcolm (1). One this episode for Hoshi, Malcolm, & T’Pol.
  • This is the only episode of Enterprise directed by Les Landau, and his final of any TV incarnation of Trek.  In all he directed 34 episodes of TNG, 14 of DS9, 9 of VOY, and this one of Enterprise.
  • Vaughn Armstrong, who played 3,412 roles on Star Trek plays the Klingon Captain here.  He apparently wasn’t the first choice as the originally cast actor was unable to complete his work.  Armstrong once played a Klingon before in TNG’s “Heart of Glory“.
  • A few things get their first (in universe) timeline mention in Trek: The Klingon food gagh & photon torpedoes.
  • The events of this episode are recalled as evidence in a later episode – “Judgment“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Enterprise Episode 14 - Sleeping Dogs - 30 Jan 2002 1/2 A simple plot. Hoshi, Malcolm, & T'Pol get stuck on an away mission on a Klingon ship trapped in a gas giant. Archer tries to convince other Klingons to help rescue them. That's pretty much it. You know they're not

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Enterprise Episode 14 - Sleeping Dogs - 30 Jan 2002 2/2 dying here, so the main drama doesn't hold a lot of teeth, but I enjoyed the exploration aspect of this one. Found our guys lost on a Klingon ship more interesting than the attempts to rescue them. #deconscene
