Kir’Shara
This Story: Season 4 Episode 9 (production code 185)
ENT Overall: Episode 85
Trek Overall: Story 674, Episode 713
Airdate: 3 Dec 2004
Written by Michael Sussman
Directed by David Livingston
Notes
- The final of a three part Vulcan arc – which mostly exists to deal with the complaint in fandom then about “Why do these Vulcans act differently?”.
- Shran appears again – although oddly without talking to Archer at all.
- The Vulcan capital building was partially a reused SHIP model from “Storm Front, Part II“.
- Events of this episode are somewhat followed up on in the Star Trek: Discovery episode “Unification III“. That episode however is more a sequel to the TNG episodes “Unification” (Parts I & II). Both this one and that talk about reuniting Vulcans and Romans.
- The Pa’nar Syndrome that T’Pol was struck with back in the “Fusion” episode is finally cured.
- Andorians appear to have acquired transporter technology since the episode “The Andorian Incident” as in that one they are said not to have it.
- The Romulan Talok was played by Todd Stashwick. He is more known for his appearances as Liam Shaw in all 10 episodes of the third series of “Star Trek: Picard”. The outfit he wore was one used in Star Trek: Nemesis.
- T’Pol’s “marriage” to Kos ends here (amicably).
- The Vulcan High Command is dissolved at the end of this episode.
- The Kir’Shara object when activated visually reminded me a little of the stones from the Fifth Element.

day with Surak's katra, stop the war, and restore the Syrannites to power - explaining why the Vulcans of this time don't act like the ones we knew. The Syrannites were the real ones. I actually like this SO much it's hard to put into words why. T'Pol is also cured of her Pa'nar Syndrome. A+++ ep.
