This was a bonus 7min ep released on Youtube as part of the 50th anniv celebrations. It starred Paul McGann as the Doctor, which was a MAJOR shock at the time. It shows the end of the 8th Doctor, and he regenerates – but not into Christopher Eccleston, into John Hurt – the previously unknown “War Doctor”. It aired in 2013 when Matt Smith was the incumbent, but I wanted to include it here with McGann’s ’96 movie. This was so well written, it conveys McGann’s Doctor well, it gets its point across shortly, and also brings back the Sisterhood of Karn from a Tom Baker story. This was gold when released, and still works today! It’s also still on Youtube, you can watch the whole thing below.
