Notes

• The first appearances by Mark Lenard as Sarek and Jane Wyatt as Amanda Grayson – Spock’s parents.  Mark would return to the role several times in the future (in a few of the TOS era movies, and two Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes).  Jane Wyatt would return only once more, in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.  Oddly, she didn’t share a scene with Mark Lenard who was also in that movie.
• This contains full Starfeet dress uniforms during parts of the episode.  This wasn’t the first time we ever saw them (Court Martial, The Menagerie), but is the first time we saw the big three in them at the same time.
