More Tribbles, More Troubles
More Tribbles, More Troubles
This Story: Season 1 Episode 5 (production code 1.1)
TAS Overall: Episode 5
Trek Overall: Story 84, Episode 85
Airdate: 6 Oct 1973
Written by David Gerrold
Directed by Hal Sutherland
Notes
- This was the first episode released of the Animated Series in High Definition. That was because it was upscaled for the Star Trek Original Series Season 2 Blu-Ray set to go along with the original Tribbles episode being remastered in HD as well. This was years before the entire animated series was released on Blu-Ray.
- This is a direct sequel to the original series episode, “The Trouble with Tribbles“.
- The Klingon captain in this episode is supposed to be Koloth, the same one from the original Tribble episode, but the voice actor is not the same – It’s James Doohan vs William Campbell.
- Cyrano Jones is again portrayed by Stanley Adams, one of only three actors (beyond the regular cast) who voiced their characters in the original series and the animated series. Mark Lenard as Sarek & Roger C. Carmel as Harry Mudd are the others.
- The tribbles all appear as pink as the director Hal Sutherland was color blind, and to him it all appeared grey.
- David Gerrold is animated as the transporter chief in this episode, although his character does not have any lines.

A sequel to the original Tribble episode written by David Gerrold as well. We have Klingons, we have Cyrano Jones, we even have pink tribbles! (cuz the director was color blind). It's a fun story pic.twitter.com/l27aiGcik3

which can be retconned into future stories showing Klingon hate for tribbles (hello glommer). Always wished TAS went longer so we could have gotten a third. A lot packed in this 22 minutes. pic.twitter.com/4jr6o1YLux
