Notes
- The second of two scripts from the aborted “Star Trek: Phase II” series to be made elsewhere. The other was the Season 2 episode “The Child” (and of course Star Trek: The Motion Picture).
- The chairs in the arbitration scene were also used in the Addams Family Movie.
- The name of the Klingon homeworld is implied here to be “Klingon”, but that was later changed.
- Oddly this was the highest rated episode of Star Trek: TNG since Encounter at Farpoint.
- This episode postulates there is a Devil in Klingon lore which contradicts the remarks in “Day of the Dove” when it was said there was no “Klingon Devil”.
- The end of this episode puts forth the idea there will be further meetings with the being who calls herself Ardra (whose name we never find out). But that never happened.

A being named Ardra says they have "legal claim" to a planet" - but also claims to be "The Devil" - but not just the Christian

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 87 - Devil's Due - 4 Feb 1991 2/2 devil, but one that spans all cultures. It's a weird concept, cuz you know they wouldn't do "the devil", so you just wait it out. It reminds me a bit of that one Simpsons Halloween episode where there was a trial with the Devil.
