- A loose sequel to the TNG episode “Journey’s End“, which aired in real time about a month before this.
- Rule of Acquisition Mentioned – #214: “Never begin a negotiation on an empty stomach”.
- The Maquis settlement uses the same matte painting that was in TNG’s “The Ensigns of Command“.
- Sakonna is played by Bertila Damas. She was also Marika Wilkarah in Voyager’s “Survival Instinct“. She also appeared in two episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Amy Santiago’s mother Camila.
