- The only episode of DS9 that Jonathan Frakes appeared in as an on screen actor. Amusingly he directed the episode immediately preceding this one.
- A direct sequel to the TNG episode “Second Chances“.
- Tricia O’Neill appears as Korinas. She had appeared in TNG twice – as Kurak in “Suspicions” and Rachel Garrett in “Yesterday’s Enterprise“.
- The only episode of the series to show the Cardassian War Room.
- This episode was never followed up on in any way, despite the ending setting up a future story.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 55 - Defiant - 21 Nov 1994 2/2 and in particular Kira is a joy. Always loved Frakes' performance as Riker, and while this isn't the TNG character, it's Frakes, so you kind of have that in your head just the same. Was a good ep, wish they did a sequel.
