Field of Fire

This Story: Season 7 Episode 13 (production code 563)
DS9 Overall: Episode 163
Trek Overall: Story 420, Episode 444
Airdate: 8 Feb 1999
Writer: Robert Hewitt Wolfe
Director: Tony Dow

Notes

  • This is three episodes in a row with a heavy focus on Ezri, although there was a 4 week break between the last one and this one on original broadcast.
  • Joran Dax is played here by Leigh McCloskey.  The character last appeared in the third season episode “Equilibrium“, but the actor who played him then (Jeff Magnus McBride) was unavailable. The character also appeared in “Facets“, but there he was played by Avery Brooks. Additionally, I know McCloskey VERY well as Mitch Cooper on the TV series “Dallas“.
  • The only episode of DS9 directed by Tony Dow.  He apparently got the gig as he is a friend of Billy Mumy, who had been in “The Siege of AR-558” a few weeks prior to this.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 163 - Field of Fire - 8 Feb 1999 2/2 got a kick out of the murder weapon - a gun that has a transporter built into the mechanism so the gun can be in a different place then the target. I quite liked the visual depictions of this. A good solid episode.
