• Running fired torpedo count: 14 (3 this episode) / Confirmed crew deaths since pilot: 7 (crew of 147).
• The events of this episode are followed up on to a small extent in a season seven episode “Shattered“.
• The second (and final) appearance of Susan Dial as Danara Pel.
• The final episode with the Vidiians in the series.  They do appear agin later when a gaggle of various aliens appear, but as actual antagonists, this is their final appearance.  During this, the events of the prior episodes “Faces“, “Lifesigns“, & “Deadlock” are brought up.
• The events of this episode take place over a span of four months.
• Janeway’s civilian clothing was later re-used in Star Trek: Enterprise.
