Extreme Risk

This Story: Season 5 Episode 3 (production code 197)
VOY Overall: Episode 97
Trek Overall: Story 522, Episode 552
Airdate: 28 Oct 1998
Written by Kenneth Biller
Directed by Cliff Bole

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 40 / Confirmed crew deaths since pilot: 19 (crew of 140 (my count says 134)).
  • The blue outfit worn by Roxanne Dawson at the start of the episode was originally worn by William Shatner for Star Trek Generations.  However the Shatner scene with this outfit was cut from the movie.  It probably required some modifications as William Shatner & Roxanne Dawson don’t have exactly the same body type.
  • The first episode with the newly designed (by Tom Paris) shuttle – “The Delta Flyer”.
  • This episode follows up with events in the episode “Hunters” when B’Elanna finds out the Maquis are no more.
  • Vorik appears again in this episode, still portrayed by Alexander Enberg.
  • Hamilton Camp plays the Malon Vrelk here.  He was also a Ferengi named Leck in two DS9 episodes – “Ferengi Love Songs” & “The Magnificent Ferengi”.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 97 - Extreme Risk - 28 Oct 1998 2/3 better. The part I liked was Tom Paris' creation of the new shuttle - the "Delta Flyer". That part was intersting. Although for a ship with constant power and rationing problems, where'd they get the materials to do this? 🤣

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 97 - Extreme Risk - 28 Oct 1998 3/3 Fun fact: The outfit that Roxanne Dawson wore at the start of the episode was the same one that William Shatner wore in a deleted scene in Star Trek: Generations. The one where Kirk was doing orbital skydiving. :)

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
