Once Upon a Time

This Story: Season 5 Episode 5 (production code 199)
VOY Overall: Episode 99
Trek Overall: Story 524, Episode 554
Airdate: 11 Nov 1998
Written by Michael Taylor
Directed by John T. Kretchmer

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 40 / Confirmed crew deaths since pilot: 19 (crew of 140 (my count says 134) – but is 127?).
  • The first episode (of sixteen) with Scarlett Pomers in the role of Naomi Wildman.  All subsequent appearances of the character are with Pomers (except for time travel into the future and alternate reality stories).
  • Interestingly, it’s the last appearance of Samantha Wildman (Naomi’s mother) in this timeline.  The character makes one more appearance after this (in “Fury“). However that appearance was in scenes that took place before this time.
  • There is a loose reference to a story told by Neelix in the episode “Jetrel” here about the loss of his family.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 99 - Once Upon a Time - 11 Nov 1998 1/2 An odd ep. Samantha Wildman is on an away mission, and gets injured. The crew (mostly Neelix) takes it upon themselves to take care of the kid. Mom eventually recovers, but in the meantime we get a lot of time with child

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 99 - Once Upon a Time - 11 Nov 1998 2/2 perceptions of adult situations. We spend time in a holodeck with a kids character. Not my favorite ep. When it was new, my kids weren't born yet, and now they're too old. I can see the appeal for fans w/young kids tho.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
