Notes
- Running Decon Gel Scene Appearances: Trip (1), T’Pol (1) – none this episode.
- The show’s theme song (Faith of the Heart) is in the episodes’ score as well, something that rarely happens.
- A squeak in the Captain’s chair in this episode is repaired 28 episodes from now in season two’s “Dead Stop“.
- This episode’s race is the Axanar – the first time they’ve appeared. They were mentioned in the TOS episode “Whom Gods Destroy“, however.
- The Axanar captain was played by Jeff Ricketts. He would later appear as an Andorian named Keval in “The Andorian Incident“.
- Jeff Ayres makes his first of twenty appearances as the background character Haynem here. He was uncredited until his final appearance in the series finale. Ayres was also a stand-in for Scott Bakula.
- Solomon Burke Jr make his first of 36 appearances as a (mostly) background character named Billy here.

There's a subplot about working on their weapons systems, one about trying to keep a slug alive. Mostly low stakes stuff.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Enterprise Episode 3 - Fight or Flight - 3 Oct 2001 2/2 When they finally encounter a dead ship, it exposes how some of them work (or don't) with each other. There's a focus on Hoshi's neurosis. I did like the "exploration" aspect of this. Porthos loves cheese. 😆
