• Running Decon Gel Scene Appearances: Trip (1), T’Pol (1) – none this episode.
• The first of eight episodes of Enterprise directed by LeVar Burton.
• The sets for the tunnels and caves were used again (modified of course) for the next one – “The Andorian Incident“.   They continued to be used through other episodes of Season 1.
• The first time we hear the name of Phlox’s race – Denobulian.
• Jamin was played by Erick Avari.  He was also a Bajorian named Yarka on DS9’s “Destiny” as well as a Klingon named B’iJik in TNG’s “Unification Part I“.
• The actor Steve Blalock is credited as “Novan Man” in this episode. He was Leonard Nimoy’s stand-in in the second and third movies.  He’s also credited with eighteen other on screen roles in various movies and TV episodes from TNG, VOY, and ENT.   There’s a complete list here.
