Vanishing Point

This Story: Season 2 Episode 10 (production code 136)
ENT Overall: Episode 36
Trek Overall: Story 626, Episode 664
Airdate: 27 Nov 2002
Written by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga
Directed by David Straiton

Notes

  • Running Decon Gel Scene Appearances: T’Pol (3), Trip (2), Hoshi (2), Malcolm (1), Archer (1), Porthos (1).  None this episode.
  • The first canonical use of the word “beam” in connection to the transporter happens here.
  • Hoshi is only the third person on Enterprise to actually use the transporter to this point (the others being Archer (once) and Reed (twice)).
  • Keone Yong played Hoshi’s father (named “Mr. Sato”).  He was also the baseball player Buck Bokai in DS9’s “If Wishes Were Horses”.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Enterprise Episode 36 - Vanishing Point - 27 Nov 2002 1/2A good ol Trek trope - the transporter accident. Hoshi uses it, and then she starts to "disappear" - the crew can't see her, etc. It feels somewhat like TNG's "The Next Phase". But we get to see a *LOT* of Hoshi

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Enterprise Episode 36 - Vanishing Point - 27 Nov 2002 2/2in this ep. Liked they focused on her a lot. There's an alien aspect to the story, and some transporter phobia the reminds me of McCoy. You know it gets reset in the end, but I enjoyed the mystery & the journey.
