Helping a friend
Ever do something that makes you wonder why you offered to do it right after offering to do it?
Last night, one of my wife’s coworkers called her at home and said that his car was non operational, and wanted to know if he could get a ride into work in the morning. Lynn declined, as she’s not one to go somewhere she doesn’t know when she’s also in a hurry. So she hung up. For some bizarre reason I told her, “I’ll take him!”. So she called back, and I said I’d drive him to work. Now, he has to be in work at 8AM – I don’t have to be in till 9, so I had to get up about an hour earlier than I normally do.
Right after I hung up, I said “Why did I just do that?” It’s not like driving him to work is a major hassle, but it was one of those fits of niceness I guess. I was a friggin zombie doing it, but I was there on time and got him to work, after which I was in work about an hour earlier than I normally do.
I usually drink decaf coffee – but this time I had regular, I think I needed the caffiene to wake up. :)
