Perfect I’m Not: Boomer on Beer, Brawls, Backaches, and Baseball by David Wells, Chris Kreski Synopsis: Forget the perfect game. Forget the World Series rings. Forget the legendary carousing, the barroom brawling, the heavy-metal head-banging, and the endless supply of uncensored, often havoc-wreaking quotes. Forget the feuds with dumb-assed fans, wrong-headed managers and the entire […]

I noticed yesterday that the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team introduced a new team logo. Normally as a baseball fan, I’ve gotten jaded about that, because mostly they just seem like cash grabs. Especially when the Blue Jays introduced a new team logo for the 2003 season already! The logo above will be used starting […]

Deep Purple has a new album out. As usual, it’s a good, solid, quality album (although their last one, Abandon wasn’t as great, I think). THe reason I’m writing this is twofold. First to tell you about it. It’s a definite pickup. Unless you like modern crap like Korn, Linkin Park, Britney Spears and other […]

Updated the spam count for this morning. The numbers on the left are what I delete from my SpamKiller dead mail folder EACH DAY. Did some computing this morning on the numbers.. Since roughly 6PM on Friday the 22nd (that’s about 112.5 hours) I’ve gotten 10,185 pieces of spam. That’s about 90.5 pieces of spam […]

For a long time I’ve gotten mounds and mounds of spam. I’ve decided to start counting the number of it I get. I get rather a lot, and each morning when I get in to work, I empty the dead mail folder from my spam killer software. I delete thousands of them a week, so […]

My wife and I got our first DVD player back around the Holiday season of 1998. We’ve been enamoured with the format ever since, and we’ve watched “the general public” become more crazed with the format since. However, in all the years we’ve had one (this’ll be our 5th year, 6th holiday season) I don’t […]

Had something really cool happen on Tuesday night. My wife got picked to be on the home run contest on TV for the Texas Rangers game. During Ranger games, they pick someone from a group of people who entered, and that person is the “Sonic Slam Contestant”. If a Ranger player hits a HR in […]

For several years now, I’ve had a HP LaserJet 6L printer. It’s not the fastest printer around, and it’s only black & white, but it’s more than served my needs in the time I’ve had it. Yesterday I had a MAJOR paper jam in the thing. Paper jams I’ve had in the past were easy […]

Last night I attended a concert in Dallas. It was what I affectionally called “The Summer Geezer Rock Tour”. The reason is that the three bands playing were Motorhead, Dio, & Iron Maiden. All three of these bands had some pretty big success in the 80’s, and have had varying degrees since then. The concert […]

I think this spam I’ve gotten a few of over the last few weeks is one of the most “out there” (har har) spams I’ve gotten. Once I finish saving up for the piece of the Brooklyn Bridge, I’ll get right on this.
