Half a Life

This Story: Season 4 Episode 22 (production code 196)
TNG Overall: Episode 96
Trek Overall: Story 195, Episode 198
Airdate: 6 May 1991
Teleplay by Peter Allan Fields
Story by Peter Allan Fields & Ted Roberts
Directed by Les Landau

Notes

  • Michelle Forbes’ first appearance in Star Trek is in this episode, but not as the character she’d be far more famous for later (Ensign Ro Laren).
  • David Ogden Stiers is the main guest in this episode. In one scene in engineering a panel he is sitting next to says “Composite Sensor Analysis – 4077” – a reference to his time on the TV show “M*A*S*H“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 96 - Half a Life - 6 May 1991 1/2 David Ogden Stiers from MASH shows up as an alien from a reclusive race who becomes involved with Lwxana Troi. Troi's mum is usually annoying af when she shows up, but not this time. This ep gives her something to actually do.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 96 - Half a Life - 6 May 1991 2/2 She's fallen in love with a character who is supposed to commit ritual suicide. It's an intense wrinkle for Lwxana for sure. Michelle Forbes appears as Stiers' daughter, not as Ro Laren. Rest of the crew appearances are minimal.
