Justice

This Story: Season 1 Episode 8 (production code 109)
TNG Overall: Episode 8
Trek Overall: Story 108, Episode 110
Airdate: 9 Nov 1987
Written by Rowley Thorne & Ralph Wills
Directed by James L. Conway

Notes

  • This is the first episode to be commissioned after the show went to series after the pilot episode.
  • Picard’s violation of the Prime Directive in this episode is brought up in a later episode (Coming of Age).
  • The guitar-like instrument used by one of the Edo looks a lot like Adam’s guitar seen in the Original Series third season episode “The Way to Eden“.

Then there's this one. There's this super friendly planet w/ people who are unrealistically dressed (always thought was a Roddenberryism). Wesley breaks a very simple thing, and the planet wants to put him to death pic.twitter.com/lRlv5cMy0b

for it. Picard then tries to save him from the planet's red tape. Many fans at the time (myself included) were in the "leave him there to rot" camp. This was not one of my fav eps - rewatch changed little. pic.twitter.com/j7KdwmaTAq

The musical instrument mentioned above in the notes area.

Is that you Professor Chronitis? #DoctorWho #Shada
This is an awful lot of characters in the same spot standing around saying and doing nothing. Feels poorly written.
