Pond Life

This Story: Series 7 Prequel
Overall: Not a proper episode, so no count
Airdate: 27 – 31 Aug 2012
Written by Chris Chibnall
Directed by Saul Metzstein

Notes

  • This was a series of five short episodes, all under the banner of “Pond Life”.  None of them have individual titles, however.
  • The series was originally titled “The Last Days Of The Ponds”.
  • They were released on five consecutive days from the 27th to 31st of August, 2012 on the BBC website (where you can still view them today).  They were made available collectively on the BBC Red Button service on 1 Sep 2012.
  • Collectively, they serve as a prequel to Series 7 as a whole, but more specifically “Asylum of the Daleks” as it gives a reason for Amy & Rory’s divorce in that episode.

A series of shorts totaling about 6 mins showing what Amy & Rory do in their life. Mostly humorous, but the last one sets up the marital discord that leads to their divorce in next ep. #OodOnTheLoo pic.twitter.com/3npfzOnk2A
