This Story: Season 7 Episode 12 (production code 264)
TNG Overall: Episode 164
Trek Overall: Story 256, Episode 266
Airdate: 10 Jan 1994
Written by Ronald D. Moore
Directed by LeVar Burton
Notes
- The first episode to air in 1994, the last year TNG was on the air.
- Music was done by John Debney as someone I know who did the music for the Doctor Who 1996 TV Movie.
- The series finale of Star Trek: Enterprise (“These Are the Voyages…“) has its plot woven with this episode. The “TNG parts” of that episode take place during the events of this one.
- Ronald D. Moore says this episode’s script was based off the book “Raise the Titanic!“.
- The first time an Enterprise is shown to cloak since the TOS episode “The Enterprise Incident“.
- The entire concept of “Capt Picard Day” was created so they could have an excuse to use Jonathan Frakes’ impression of Patrick Stewart.
- Troi is barely in this one, only in the opening teaser, which has no bearing on the episode. However the aforementioned Enterprise episode shows what Deanna was doing.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 164 - The Pegasus - 10 Jan 1994 2/2 Riker's conflict in his being complicit in covering up the illegal device. Good ep, loved the conflict, the insight into Riker's past, and seeing the Enterprise cloak was fun. It's also the framing ep for the Enterprise finale.
