The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot
The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot
This Story: 50th Anniversary Special Spoof
Overall: Not a proper episode, so no count
Airdate: 23 Nov 2013
Written by Peter Davison
Directed by Peter Davison
Notes
- This is a special written and directed by Peter Davison about himself, Colin Baker, and Sylvester McCoy’s attempts to get into the 50th Anniversary Special.
- There’s an absolute flood of cameos of classic Who actors in this thing, with an equal amount of in-jokes for hardcore fans based on canonical events and real life things, too.
- It was originally released as a viewable special on the BBC’s Red Button service.
- This was never released on any US physical or digital format. Only on UK releases – I had to import it to get it (legally).
- The special can be viewed for free on the BBC website to this day (as of Sep 2023).

An absolute joy. Produced as a side project for the 50th anniversary. Written/Directed by Peter Davison. It shows Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, & Paul McGann complaining that they're not going pic.twitter.com/oECa3b2dJu

to be involved in the 50th special, and their attempts to get in it. Riotously funny, & packed to the brim with guest stars and in jokes that hardcore fans like myself eat up. So much fun this is. :) pic.twitter.com/JRCynm5Udv
