- Kelsey Grammer (Cheers, Frasier) appears as Capt Morgan Bateson.
- Kirstie Alley was supposed to appear and revive her character of Savvik along with Grammer making for an amusing Cheers reunion. However scheduling conflicts prevented this from happening.
- The only episode where the full main shuttle bay of a Galaxy class ship is seen.
- Dr Crusher’s nurse has her last name (Ogawa) stated in this episode for the first time. Her first name (Alyssa) was first stated in “Clues“.
- The first episode of any incarnation of Trek where “ejecting the warp core” is mentioned.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 118 - Cause and Effect - 23 Mar 1992 2/2 they run into another ship captained by Kelsey Grammar - Capt. Frasier! Was supposed to have Kirstie Alley in it, but alas, scheduling. Has one of the best pre-title openings of all of 'em. Time loop stories were new here.
