  • While Data says he has no mother in this episode he meets the wife of his creator four episodes later (“Inheritance“), his effective mother.
  • We see the gift given to Data by his “girlfriend” in the episode “In Theory” here.
  • When Data gets decapitated in this episode, the head prop is the same one used in the two parts of Time’s Arrow.
  • Data’s Sherlock Holmes outfit from “Elementary, Dear Data” can be seen here.
  • Some edits of this episode remove the majority of the scene where Data stabs Troi.
  • Data’s cat Spot is referred to as a male here, but in the episode “Genesis“, Spot appears female and has a litter of kittens.
