- Some of the music written for this episode was originally written for the TNG episode “QPid“, but never used there.
- Kate Mulgrew’s real hair is worn in this episode (and the next, but it was dropped after that).
- The first episode where the Doctor leaves Sickbay (he’s in a holodeck).
- Christopher Neame plays Unferth here. He later appeared in the Enterprise two parter “Storm Front” as a German General. He also appeared in Doctor Who as the primary villain Skagra in the Tom Baker serial “Shada“. Neame also was in Babylon 5 as “Knight Two” in the episode “And the Sky Full of Stars”. Finally he appeared as Colonel Quute in the Blake’s 7 episode “Traitor“. Finally he appeared in a Season 12 episode of “Dallas” (“April Showers“) as Gustav Hellstrom.
- Freya was played by Marjorie Monaghan. She also was a recurring character on Babylon 5 (Tessa Holloran). She is married to Grant Rosenberg, who wrote the TNG episode “New Ground“.
- Michael Keenan plays Hrothgar here. He also appeared in TNG as Maturin (Sub Rosa) as well as Patrick in two episodes of DS9 (Statistical Probabilities & Chrysalis).

It also is the first time the Doctor is outside of sickbay as he gets in on the holodeck program. In fact, I'd say he's probably one the strong points here.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 12 - Heroes and Demons - 24 Apr 1995 2/2 The holodeck program being run by Kim is about Beowulf. Basically The Doctor has to find out what went wrong with the holodeck and rescue the others from the program. This was kind of a flat one for me. Just "eh".
