Notes

• The final episode in the Xindi arc.  This is kind of the postscript to all that.  There are however a couple of Xindi that appear here, but it was a dream sequence only.  It’s the final time we see any Xindi in the series in any capacity.
• The first time we see NX-02 Columbia.
• It is captained by a female – the first time we’ve seen that since Voyager’s “Endgame“.  She was played by Joanna Cassidy, who auditioned for Kathryn Janeway.
• Events in this episode are followed up in the “Demons” and “Terra Prime” episodes.
• It is established that 27 crew members died in the expanse as part of the Xindi mission.
• Archer mentions a Capt Jeffries here – this is a reference to the episode “First Fight“, and of course TOS designer Matt Jeffries.
• The only time we see Phlox execute the Denobulan self defense mechanism that makes their faces look like a blowfish.
• The first time we see Vulcan cities in live action.  Some were seen in the TAS episode “Yesteryear“, however.
• Several Vulcan marriage customs are discussed/shown here in the same way they were in TOS’s “Amok Time“.
• Koss (T’Pol’s fiancé) is played by Michael Reilly Burke.  He would appear twice more as this character this season.  He was also Goval in TNG’s “Descent, Part II” and Hogue in DS9’s “Profit & Loss“.
• T’Les (T’Pol’s mother) is played by Joanna Cassidy.  She would reprise this role twice more in “The Forge” & “Awakening“.
• Capt Hernandez is played by Ada Maris.  She would reprise this role twice more – in “Affliction” & “Divergence“.
• The fourth and final appearance of Jim Fitzpatrick as Commander Williams.  His last appearance prior to this was Season 2’s “Regeneration“.
• An unnamed Vulcan priest was played by Jack Donner.  He would reprise this role in “Kir’Shara“.  Donner is more well known for playing Subcommander Tal in the TOS episode “The Enterprise Incident“.
