- The OG story was supposed to have Riker’s family, but it was changed to LaForge when it was realized we knew nothing about his family.
- To that, this episode has Geordi’s mother, played by Madge Sinclair and his father played by Ben Vereen.
- Both of them were in the 1977 TV mini series “Roots” with LeVar Burton.
- Sinclair played the unnamed Captain of the USS Saratoga in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
- Another reference to Deep Space Nine by Picard talking to the commander of “Deep Space Three”.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 155 - Interface - 4 Oct 1993 2/2 Trek stuff. It's nice to get some background on Geordi's family after all this time. The bulk of the episode seems to be an examination of Geordi's head when he refuses to accept his mother had died. The ep has a flat feeling.
