Trek Overall: Story 353, Episode 374
Airdate: 29 Apr 1996

Notes

  • The second script where a cast member gets a writing credit (Majel Barrett).  The first was Walter Koenig’s “The Infinite Vulcan” from the original Animated Series.
  • This is the final appearance of Majel Barrett as Lwaxana Troi, and her final on screen credit in Star Trek.  However, she did continue to do voice over work as ship computers until her death.
  • Michael Ansara is in this episode as Lwaxana’s husband Jeyal.  He is well known as Kang the Klingon from appearances in DS9, VOY, & TOS as that character.
  • The events of the TNG episode “Dark Page” are recalled here.
  • This episode was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Costume Design for a Series.
  • The book that Jake is writing in this episode is “Anslem” – the same one old Jake had written in the episode “The Visitor“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 93 - The Muse - 29 Apr 1996 2/2 helps him with his writing skills. Neither is really that great; a pretty weak ep overall. However, Lwaxana's husband is played by the great Michael Ansara - man what a voice. Majel Barrett's final time on screen period.
