  • According to Ira Steven Behr, this episode is based off the 1949 play “Waiting for Godot“.
  • A game Quark wants to teach Odo is Fizzbin.  This is the same fictional game Kirk made up in the TOS episode “A Piece of the Action“.
  • Jake’s story that Nog reads shares the same title as the first season episode “Past Prologue“.
  • The outdoor shots were filmed at Mount Whitney in California.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 107 - The Ascent - 25 Nov 1996 2/2 got a good look to it. I really REALLY love the acting from Rene & Armin in this. There's a B plot with Jake moving in to quarters with Nog who has returned. Some "dad" stuff I could relate to in this story. #topshelf
