Notes

  • The first of three episodes of DS9 directed by Michael Dorn.  He would also direct one episode of Enterprise.
  • Dax does not appear in this episode.
  • At an auction Morn buys a painting.  Said painting is seen again in “Who Mourns for Morn?“.
  • Elias Giger is played by Brian Markinson.  He’s had a few other roles in Trek. He was Vorin in TNG’s “Homeward“. He was Lt. Durst in two Voyager episodes (“Cathexis” & “Faces“).  He was also “Sulan” in the Faces episode as well.
  • The plot of this ep is similar to one that Jake & Nog went through in the first season episode “Progress“.
  • A non agression pact between Bajor & the Dominion mentioned here happens in the next episode.
  • The actual baseball card in this episode is a 1951 Bowman Willie Mays card.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 123 - In The Cards - 9 Jun 1997 2/2 this ep. There's also a more serious B-plot, which is odd structure having the heavy plot be the B plot. I think it's the last time we see Kai Winn be positive. The first of three eps directed by Michael Dorn.
