Call to Arms

This Story: Season 5 Episode 26 (production code 524)
DS9 Overall: Episode 124
Trek Overall: Story 383, Episode 405
Airdate: 16 Jun 1997
Writer: Ira Steven Behr & Robert Hewitt Wolfe
Director: Allan Kroeker

Notes

  • The last episode to be written by Robert Hewitt Wolfe as a staff member, but he would write one more episode as a freelancer.
  • Rom & Leeta get married in this episode.
  • The first (of three) episodes that more than one Defiant class ship is seen on screen at the same time.  The other two are Voyager episodes – “Message in a Bottle” & “Endgame“.
  • Apparently the final shot of the episode with a massive fleet was not scripted, was something the sfx people did on their own, and it had to be addressed in the first episode of Season 6.
  • There is a Galaxy class ship shown in the fleet as NCC-1701-D, but that was a production error, it was not supposed to be the Enterprise.
  • Some of the battle footage used here was reused footage from “The Way of the Warrior“.
  • Rule of Acquisition mentioned: #190 – “Hear all, trust nothing”.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Deep Space Nine Ep 124 - Call to Arms - 16 Jun 1997 2/2 & the Federation abandons DS9 leaving it to Dukat / Dominion. Rom & Leeta get married, so there's some "light" in here. This ep moved fast, but I liked the flow. Also.. Sisko's baseball at the end of the ep? ❤️❤️❤️
