Notes

• Features the return (and final appearance in the main series) of Miranda Richardson (here as Nurse Mary).  She was of course the Queen in Series II (as a regular). She shares a similar trait here with her Season 3 character in that they’re really a gruff interior character that’s obfuscated by a “fluffy bunny” exterior character.
• Bill Wallis played Brigadier Smith here.  He was in two prior Black Adder episodes – Series I’s “The Archbishop” and Series II’s “Head“.
• Apparently the scene where Melchett refers to Oxford as a “complete dump” was an adlib by Stephen Fry.  Allegedly it was thrown in to mess with Rowan Atkinson who went there in real life.
