Notes
- Running fired torpedo count: 61. This contradicts the hard limit set in “The Cloud” of 38.
- This was the last episode of Star Trek directed by Gabrielle Beaumont. It was her only episode of Voyager. In total she directed 7 episodes of TNG, and one of DS9. She was the first female director in any incarnation of Star Trek.
- Beaumont was married to Olaf Pooley, who appeared in this episode as a Cleric.
- Gotana-Retz was played by Daniel Day Kim. He was also Chang in three episodes of Enterprise: “The Xindi“, “Extinction“, & “Hatchery“. He’s done a lot of things, but I also know him well as John Matheson, one of the primary cast on the Babylon 5 spin off series, “Crusade“.
- Kelemane was played by Obi Ndefo. He was also the Klingon Drex (son of Martok) in the DS9 episode “The Way of the Warrior“.
- Daniel Zacapa played a character billed as “Astronomer” here. He was also Henry Garcia in the DS9 episode “Past Tense, Part II“.
- The time difference in play here is quite large. One day on the planet is one second in Voyager time. Voyager is in orbit for a few centuries planet time. The amount of time Voyager was in orbit by their time isn’t mentioned, but if you extrapolate the formula, it’s about two days ship time.

Time passed much differently in most places - Voyager got to see them evolve from

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 132 - Blink of an Eye - 19 Jan 2000 2/2 primitive, to technologically advanced, to eventually becoming a threat to Voyager itself. ADORED the time play here, & I also loved there was no monster or villain of the week. Was a good sci-fi episode. Amazing stuff.
