- The first story with the “secondary” console room – “The wood one”.
- Minor change to the opening titles. They’re nearly identical, but the font used for the episode name was changed from a larger, fatter font to a more toned back font from here until the remainder of Tom’s era (except for the last series which totally revamped the titles).

I have zero memory of this story beyond the first scene when they discover the "alternate" console room, which I loved as it had both a Troughton and a Pertwee reference. pic.twitter.com/1rOGTQZ3dh

Otherwise this story is a 100% blank slate for me. The Doctor brings Mandragora energy here and tries to remove it as he brought it & combats the locals. Execution awaits. pic.twitter.com/UaqbGcRg5b

The Doctor uses his scarf as an method of escape which was amusing. To this point, it's been a simple Doctor mixed up with natives in the past story. Something we've seen pic.twitter.com/fSmRVgfBJQ

before. The Doctor and SJS escape and find a friend. They look into what's going on with the cult, the Mandragora energy, as well as Count Federico. Plots feel familiar. pic.twitter.com/o5mHOFDiwo
I'm working on Episode 3 of Masque of Mandragora for my #DoctorWhoMarathon, and I had to stop and take a moment to point this out. This guy seems a little too happy to be strangled by Tom Baker. #DoctorWho pic.twitter.com/FARQfbIgpX

Four seems like a fair to decent swordsman. I wonder if Tom did any of the real stuff here. SJS spends most of her time captured and "almost killed". Her character mostly pic.twitter.com/TCYkYGktc9

disappears in this story, she's just there to be rescued. Mandragora energy from b4 seems like a non issue. We do find out about the Tardis translating languages here. pic.twitter.com/n7OG1Lfque

The power structure changes here for the better, but the cult is far more powerful now. Overall this story mostly bored me. I just couldn't get into what was going on. pic.twitter.com/72tKunhH7B

There's a big court ball scene where SJS wears a full on old style dress. The plot was resolved way too quickly. Ye old Magic Reset Button in play here. #SalamiSandwich pic.twitter.com/rtph4vPOG0
