Notes

• The first episode with Susan Gibney as Lea Brahms, one of the engineers who created the Enterprise, although here she’s a hologram.
• One of the rare episodes that shows Picard at the helm of the Enterprise.  The only other two times are the episodes “11001001” & “Conundrum“.
• Leah Brahms was supposed to be “Navid Daystrom”, a direct descendant of Richard Daystrom from the TOS episode “The Ultimate Computer“. Unfortunately the casting department didn’t realize this would require a black actress until too late, so the character was renamed.
• The first episode of Star Trek directed by a woman.
• Guinan mentions she’s always been attracted to bald men because one was once very kind to her.  This was paid off in the Season 6 premiere, “Time’s Arrow Part II” when Picard & Guinan met in the past.
• The events of this episode are referenced when Leah Brahms shows up again for real in the episode “Galaxy’s Child“, and discovers the hologram simulation of herself.
